I started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu because it was something I had always wanted to try and I wanted to develop a proven skill set for self-defense. Although I had trained in other martial arts before, Jiu-Jitsu had me hooked from my very first class. The constant problem-solving, the challenge of pushing through discomfort, and the realization that technique could overcome size and strength kept me coming back.
Over time, Jiu-Jitsu has become much more than a hobby. It's become a way of life. It has helped me work through some of life's toughest struggles by giving me structure, purpose, and a positive outlet. It has also built a level of confidence that extends far beyond the mats. Whether I'm facing a difficult roll, a high-pressure situation at work, or an unexpected challenge in life, Jiu-Jitsu has given me the ability to be comfortable in chaos.
